About Dr. Ira A. Shivitz
Dr. Ira A. Shivitz received his M.D. at Vanderbilt University, his Internship from Baylor College of Medicine, his Residency was completed at Baylor College of Medicine- Dept. of Ophthalmology and he completed his Fellowship in Cornea External Disease. He was magna cum laude in Biology at SUNY Buffalo. Dr. Shivitz is a Physician at Cornea Consultants of Nashville. He is Certified by American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Shivitz is an Ophthalmologist specializing in Cornea & External Disease and has been in private practice since 1984. He serves as former Chief of the Department of Ophthalmology as well as serving on Medical Executive Committee at Centennial Medical Center. Dr. Shivitz is a former Clinical Instructor in the Department of Ophthalmology at Vanderbilt University and has volunteered at Metro General Hospital, teaching Vanderbilt Ophthalmology Residents. He has 10+ publications to his credit and Dr. Shivitz is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association and the Texas Ophthalmologic Society.
