|Expertise||Michael W. Chilton, was born and raised in the Midwest as oldest in a family of six children on an 80-acre farm in SE Iowa. He received his Masters in Botany & Seed Technology in Ames, Iowa in 1960. Mr. Chilton has lived, worked, or held business activities in 19 countries and has traveled over 80 countries. During his earlier years, from 1960-1975 he was living in Thailand. He was engaged in the agricultural development of field, plantation, and horticultural crops, and held positions as project director, training instructor, team leader, and general administration. From 1976-2001, Mr. Chilton was in the US commercial and seed industry as Vice President for vegetable production fro Agricultural Services Corporation and later as owner and managing director of Agricultural Alternatives, Ltd. He specialized in development of specialty crops and seeds, domestically and internationally, agribusiness development and management, horticulture, international Agribusiness, nutraceutical, specializing in plants for pharmaceuticals. Mr. Chilton has written a book entitled "Cultivating Agribusiness." He occasionally speaks at the National University of Medicine in Portland, Satellite Programs. Mr. Chilton is a member of the American Society of Agricultural Consults, past member of the Horticultural Society of America and past member of Seed Trade Association.|
